ANNOUNCING “ON! THE FUTURE OF NOW: MAKING SENSE OF OUR ALWAYS ON, ALWAYS CONNECTED WORLD” BOOK
Friday was the final day of what has been an absolutely incredible Social Media Week. Huge thanks to everyone for helping to make it happen and for their support and participation.
This week has also been important for us for another reason.
Following over 6 months of work, we’re excited to announce the launch of our first book, “On! The Future of Now: Making Sense of our Always On, Always Connected World.”
You can pre-order the book now and all proceeds from the sale will go to support charity: water.
Curated by Craig Hepburn and myself — and published in partnership with Social Media Week and Nokia — the book is made up over 20 essays and personal stories from a number of leading thinkers in tech, media, and entrepreneurship who share personal stories of how technology and social media has impacted their lives and their work.
Contributors include:
- + Seth Godin, author & entrepreneur
- + Jonah Peretti, founder and CEO of BuzzFeed
- + Nancy Lublin, CEO of Dosomething.org
- + Douglas Rushkoff, Author of Present Shock
- + Cindy Gallop, founder of MakeLoveNotPorn.tv
- + Scott Harrison, President and Founder, charity:water
- + Leah Busque, founder, TaskRabbit
However, this is just the beginning and the book is launching in the true spirit of emerging technology and will exist as a beta version for the foreseeable future. This means we’ll be adding to it and improving it iteratively over the course of the year and we continue to capture inspiring stories from extraordinary people.
Praise for the book:
“It’s like WIRED’s fantasy dinner party having access to the talents of Scott Harrison, Jonah Peretti, Nancy Lublin, and so many other creative thinkers. ‘On: The Future of Now’ is a brilliant opportunity to understand how technology is changing our world, explained by the very people leading that revolution.” — David Rowan, Editor, WIRED magazine
