GetListed Tool Relaunches As Moz Local

Last year, David Mihm’s GetListed service was acquired by then SEO Moz (now Moz). Today, it relaunched asMoz Local. It’s a similar service with a number of enhanced capabilities, the most important of which is local listings submission.
Agencies and business owners can use the tool to research where their listings appear online, manage claiming and verification and listings submission. Moz Local has also mapped Google Places categories to headings or categories at other directory sites (this tool is free).
The back end of GetListed has been upgraded to manage submissions to a range of data aggregators and directory sites. Here’s the current list:
  • Infogroup
  • Neustar Localeze
  • Acxiom
  • Factual
  • Foursquare
  • Superpages
  • Best of the Web Local
  • eLocal
Moz Local joins a number of other listing management tools and services, including UBL, Local Market Launch and Yext. Yext offers real-time data management across a broader range of sites but is also more expensive. Moz Local will update in real time where that capability exists on the partner back end (e.g., Factual, Foursquare).
Moz Local comparison
Moz’s David Mihm told me that the target audience for this product is small to mid-sized agencies working with a lot of small business locations. Mihm also indicated that during the subscription period marketers can make unlimited updates and changes; however those will roll out on whatever update schedule the partner uses (up to 30 days or more in couple of cases).
If an agency or business owner terminates Moz Local the last update will remain the live listing except in a couple of instances where the listing will revert to what it was before Moz Local’s involvement. Mihm said this was the policy of some of the partner sites not Moz.
