Google SEO algorithm 2013 Review

Another year is starting and there will be an increase in complexity of local search at Google. Let us take review of Google SEO 2013. I have toured top news story which is related to Google’s SEO. Survey of last year was released almost simultaneously with the announcement of Google+ Local and I think this year’s edition follows very closely the release of the new Google Maps.
With combination all those data points together, it becomes very clear that there is not only a single “Local algorithm” at Google-if, indeed, there ever was one.


We will take a sight on some of algorithm updates made by Google during 2013, this is as below,
Panda #24 – January 22, 2013
Google announced its first official update of 2013, claiming 1.2% of queries affected.
Panda #25 – March 14, 2013
Matt Cutts suggests edit would be the last update before Panda was integrated into the core algorithm.
“Phantom” — May 9, 2013
The exact nature of this update was unknown, but many sites reported that they experienced significant traffic loss.
Penguin 2.0 (#4) — May 22, 2013
The exact natures of the changes were unclear, but some evidence suggested that Penguin 2.0 was more finely targeted to the page level.
“Payday Loan” Update — June 11, 2013
Google announced this update to take on niches with notoriously spam results, specifically mentioning payday loans and porn.
Multi-Week Update — June 27, 2013
In this update it appears that Google may have been testing some changes that were later rolled back.
Panda Recovery — July 18, 2013
In this update, the implication was that this was algorithmic and may have “softened” some previous Panda penalties.
In-depth Articles — August 6, 2013
Google added a new type of news result called “in-depth articles”, dedicated to more evergreen, long-form content.
Hummingbird — August 20, 2013
The hummingbird algorithm is a major update of Google in SEO. It has been compared to Caffeine, and seems to be a core algorithm update that may power changes to semantic search and the Knowledge Graph for months to come.
Penguin 2.1 (#5) — October 4, 2013
The overall impact of this update seemed to be moderate, although some webmasters reported being hit hard.
During this year most of SEO experts used common tips, its details are as below:
1. Keyword in Domain name:
This is a very effective tips used for the purpose of SEO, as per latest Google algorithm updates keyword in the domain name is first considered for ranking purpose.
2. Social network:
The social network is a hot favorite tool utilized by SEO expert to drive traffic to a website. Creating A Social Profile on various Social Network such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn etc. And the daily sharing of the post / article’s on these Social Network and putting  the domain name in Social Network Profiles.
3. Submission of website/blog to Search Engine/Directories:
Creating Google Webmaster and Analytics account, it is possible to submit website including sitemap, and it is also possible track rankings and other details of the web site.
4. Interlinking:
Interlinking of all related posts, but the link should contain the keyword. Here in linking too deep and same keywords more than two times is not good for a post. If linking is to another website (outbound links) such  site you are linking to is a “Good Site”, don’t link your website to spam sites.
5. Keyword in Post Url:
Change of your post permalink if there is no keyword in the Url, blogger and WordPress by default adds title as the permalink. If you don’t see the title of the post in the Url, then you need to change your permalinks option as a keyword in the title is very important for SEO point of view.
6. Keywords in Title tag, headings, meta description and in Body:
One keyword’s use in the title tag, headings and meta description is very much required. Use too many keywords in the body, you can also use keywords in subheadings. In use of WordPress SEO executives have generally used  “WordPress SEO” plugin to automate all above tasks for self-hosted blog.
